Pray Without Ceasing

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24

“Pray without ceasing.” How can we do this? If we think of prayers as just something we say sometimes, then we cannot pray without ceasing. But God is with us always when we have invited Jesus Christ into our lives. So we can talk to God anytime.

You can pray for others — that they can be healed, and changed, and brought to Jesus Christ. You can pray for nations, and presidents, and kings — and you can pray for the man in the street, and your grocer, and your best friend.

We may need to pray persistently — to continue to come before God. “Keep on asking, and you will receive; keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Don’t give up in praying! The God of the universe loves you as His child and He delights to answer your prayers.

Be filled with the Spirit

 Be filled with the Spirit."

 Ephesians 5:17

You can be filled with God's Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is God -- here on earth, but invisible -- who came to live in the lives of those who have accepted Christ as Savior.

You do not have to try to live the Christian life on your own power without help.  The Holy Spirit can give you God's power in your life to overcome sin.  The fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life will be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.  God can help you live the Christian life by His power -- His Holy Spirit -- in your life!

Romans 8:35–37

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

As it is written:  ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Romans 8:35 – 37

Victory in Jesus  As Christians, we have victory in Jesus Christ.  The Bible says “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus...”

Paul said in the book of Ephesians in the Bible “He (God) raised Him (Christ) from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion...”

Jesus Christ has power over everything — and we are seated with Him.  This means that no discouragement — or lack of money — or unhappiness — or sickness — can overcome you.  God may not always give us the victory we are looking for in this life, but we can still be “more than conquerors through Him who loves us.”

So if you are a Christian you are a child of the King.  Hold your head high — walk in love and humility — and realize that nothing can overcome you as a child of God.
